Feb 1st, 10
The mother/daughter team of Betsy and Jessie Steiner will be sharing the commentary duties at the 2010 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event.
Sally O'Connor, who has provided the commentary at Rolex Kentucky since the initial offering of this highly popular service, has been named the Eventing FEI Steward for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG). Since Rolex Kentucky 2010 will serve as the WEG Eventing Test Event, Mrs. O'Connor will be serving in her capacity as FEI Steward at Rolex Kentucky this year.
Both Betsy and Jessie are widely respected in the Dressage community. Both are international (FEI) level riders and Betsy rode at the World Championships in Sweden for Team USA. They have training facilities in New Jersey, their home base, and at Wellington (FL), where they compete, train and coach during the winter circuit. They both have commentated at Dressage at Devon (PA). Betsy has co-hosted television programs on international dressage and is an author and clinician on fitness.
Sally O'Connor's oldest son, Brian, who serves as Controller on Cross-Country Day of Rolex Kentucky and who is announcer for a multitude of Dressage and Eventing Competitions throughout the U.S., will take over the duties of Show Jumping Commentary for the 2010 Rolex Kentucky Event. A former competitor, Brian's expertise as a professional announcer will blend with his knowledge of Show Jumping to make the commentary on the final day of the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event entertaining as well as enlightening.
